On the 19-21 of April, 2016, EFSCA (European Fire Service Colleges‘ Association) working group‘s meeting was held in Austria. There took part the representatives of fire and rescue service educational institutions from Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. The chairman of the meeting was the representative of Lithuania, the Chief of the Fire Fighters Training School Valdas Krulikauskas. The workshop under the title “Training for Volunteers of Fire Service” had been initiated in order to activate EFSCA working group on the mentioned topic.

On the 21-23 March, 2016, the representatives of the Fire Fighters Training School: the chief of the Training Division Gintaras Paulauskas and the chief specialist of the Civil Protection Training Division Regina Voitkevic will participate in the meeting held at the Rescue College of Estonian Academy of Security Sciences. The purpose of the meeting is to take the good practice from the Estonian colleagues in the field of drowing people‘s prevention events organisation. Working meetings are foreseen with Mr Indrek Ints, head of the Prevention Department of Estonian Rescue Board, Ms Kadi Luht, lecturer of the Fire safety and engineering subjects chair, Mr Gert Teder, lecturer on water accidents prevention, rescue team leader in Lilleküla Fire station, member of the Estonian Lifeguard Association.

On the 14th-15th of March, 2016, in Romania, Bucharest, European Fire Service Colleges’ Association (EFSCA) Board Meeting was held. Without Lithuanian representatives of the Fire Fighters Training School there took part EFSCA president Mr. Wim Beckmann (Netherlands), EFSCA Secretary Iveta Vorza (Latvia) and EFSCA Treasurer Mr. Vojtech Vranay (Czech Republic), the representatives of the host country from Police Academy “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”: dean of Fire Officers Faculty Florin Neacsa and international relations coordinator and lecturer Ionel-Alin Mocioi (Romania) and the representative of an incoming chairman from Berlin Fire and Rescue Academy, Katrin Kästner (Germany). During the meeting the main organisational questions related to 2016 EFSCA Annual Conference and General Assembly were discussed: programme, date and place of the event, number of presentations, conference theme, working groups, financial and other questions related to activities of the association.

On the 21-22 January 2016, Fire Fighters Training School will be visited by two officers from Cherkassy Institute of Fire Safety named after Heroes of Chornobyl of National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine: the chief of Operational Rescue Forces Faculty, Colonel of civil protection service Yevhen Kachkar and the deputy chief of Engineering Department, Colonel of civil protection service Stas Serhiy. During this visit cooperation possibilities will be discussed and the cooperation agreement will be signed.

On the 28 September - 2 October, 2015, the Fire Fighters Training School (further – School) will be implementing a Mobility project under Nordplus Adult programme (the exchange of teachers) the title of which is “LEARNING AND TEACHING NEW RESCUE TRICKS AT A HEIGHT”. This international practical training will last five days there two representatives of each project partner namely the Rescue College of Security Science Academy (Estonia), the Fire Safety and Civil Protection College (Latvia) and 3 representatives from the Main School of Fire Service (Poland), within the rights of external guests, will take part. The Fire Fighters Training School (Lithuania) will be both a host and a project coordinator, also represented by two teachers. This is the second time when the School initiates a project under Nordplus Adult programme. In 2013 the same programme project was committed to learners and this time to teachers.

2015-08-18

On the 24-28th of August, 2015, Fire Fighters Training School (further – School) will be holding an international training course for trainers of first responders to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (further – CBRN) incidents. The training will last all the week. Among the special guests there will participate NATO representative and CBRN incidents’ expert Lyudmila Simeonova (Bulgaria) as well as the participants of the course from Estonia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia and Lithuania. Theoretical lectures and practical exercises will be provided by the specialists from the School, the Ministry of National Defence Joint Headquarters, MD Jonas Basanavicius Military Medical Service and Radiation Protection Centre, as well as colleagues from Latvia and Estonia.

2015-07-15

On the 27-31 July, 2015, the Fire Fighters Training School (hereafter - the School) will be implementing an international exchange of students, the activity which is being coordinated by the Education Exchanges Support Foundation. The activity is attributed to Nordplus Junior subprogramme administrated by Swedish Council for Higher Education which supports exchanges between actors from the Nordic and Baltic countries.

On the 20th – 21st May, 2015, Fire Fighters Training School will be a host of the annual European Fire Service Colleges’ Association’s (EFSCA) international scientific and practical EFSCA conference, the topic of which will be Integration of Voluntary Fire Fighters into Existing Fire and Rescue System. This is the first time when the annual meeting of this association will be held in Lithuania. During this conference, presentations will be given on Volunteering in fire and rescue system and innovations, research and development in the field of fire safety and civil protection. The speakers-experts will be not only from Lithuania but also from Estonia, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands and Ukraine. There will take part delegates from 21 EFSCA member countries.

On the 25th - 27th February, 2015, in Fire Fighters Training School, European Fire Service Colleges’ Association’s (EFSCA) Board Meeting was held. There took part EFSCA President Mr. Wim Beckmann (Netherlands), President’s secretary Ms. Noortje Pulle Talents (Netherlands), EFSCA Treasurer Mr. Vojtech Vranay (Czech Republic), EFSCA Secretary Mr. Ionel-Alin Mocioi (Romania), an outgoing chairman from Lviv State University of Life Safety - the chief of the International Cooperation Department Mr. Oleksandr Svyatkevych (Ukraine) and an incoming chairman from Police Academy ”Alexandru Ioan Cuza“ - Deputy Rector Dr. Ion Busuioc (Romania).
