On the 29th of August, vice-minister of the Ministry of Interior, Žimantas Pacevičius together with director of Fire and Rescue Department Remigijus Baniulis, vizited the Firefighters Training School (further-school). There were shown for the vice-minister training field and the training base of firefighter rescuer.

This year, in May 28 – 31, the chief of the Firefighters Training School of Fire and Rescue Department under the MOI, Colonel of Internal service Valdas Krulikauskas and the chief specialist of the Training division Vaida Jasėnaitė are participating in the annual conference of the European Fire Service Colleges Association (EFSCA) which is held in Minsk (the Republic of Belarus).

In 2003 Fire Fighters Training School of Fire and Rescue Department under the MOI opened the door and started its activity.

In May 24th of this year, School celebrated its 10th anniversary which started with mass at the Saint Cross church, later the participants of the event went to the hall of Fire and Rescue Department under the MOI, where was held a celebratory School‘s anniversary commemoration. Events for sociaty were held in Karolniskes district nearby Fire Fighters Training school for that to acquaint with the School‘s activity and fire fighter‘s rescuers profession which requires a lot of toughness.

On the 15-17 of April, 2013, EFSCA (European Fire Service Colleges‘ Association) working group‘s meeting was held in Austria. There took part the chiefs of fire and rescue service educational institutions from Austria, Germany, Hungary and the Netherlands. Lithuania was represented by the chief of the Firefighters Training School of Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior, Colonel of internal service Valdas Krulikauskas.

On the 11-13th of March, 2013, the chief of the Firefighters Training School of Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, Colonel of internal service Valdas Krulikauskas, is taking part in the meeting of NATO Civil Emergency Planning Committee and Civil Protection Group for heads of regional training centres which is held in Tromsø city, in Norway.

On the 11-13th of February, 2013, in Poland, the meeting of “QuestCity – Edutainment for Europe“ project partners took place. There were the representatives from Germany, Austria, Cyprus, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Slovenia and Turkey of various educational institutions, ministries, departments and other organisations related to civil protection. The representative of Lithuania was Vaida Jasenaite, the chief specialist of the Training division of the Firefighters Training School of Fire and Rescue Department under the MOI (further – the School).

2012-11-19

On the 13th - 14th November, 2012 in the Firefighters training school in the Practical training division were held trainings for the specialists of “Vilnius International airport” under the department of Aviation safety, Fire rescue division. During the theoretical and practical trainings the features of extinguishing aircrafts had been analysed, also rescue works by using hydraulic and pneumatic rescue equipment. There also had been analysed such topics as extinguishing fires and leaking fuel, evacuation of victims and other actual topics.

2012-11-19

On the 12th – 23rd November, 2012 in the Firefighters training school were held the training courses of the Sate and Fire rescue service officers, who have or are seeking for the right to lead the operations. There participated 24 officers of various fire rescue councils and services. During the training officers got acquainted with the newest fire and rescue equipment, improved their skills in the fires extinguishing, in the removal of car accidents, and also removal the incidents of radiation and chemical. The duration of training – 80 hours.

2012-11-14

On the 15th of November 2012, Firefighters Training School will be visited by the delegation from Poland from the Main School of Fire Service (SGSP) in Warsaw. The delegation will consist of the Rector Commandant General Ryszard Dąbrowa, Deputy Dean of the Faculty Civil Safety Engineering Colonel Wojciech Jarosz and a coordinator of the International Cooperation Department Ms Maria Ceglińska. During this visit, the bilateral cooperation agreement will be signed by the chiefs of the both institutions and the visitors will be familiarized with the training system, facilities and methods used at the hosting institution.

On the 7-8th of November 2012 in Helsinki (Finland) chiefs and experts’ of the training centres of NATO/EAPC (Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council), Civil Emergency Planning Committee (CEPC) and Civil Protection Group (CPG) meeting was held. The aim of it was to discuss the regional response to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) incidents training centres’ activity done during 2012. The meeting involved NATO and EAPC countries’ representatives from the Czech Republic, Germany, Bulgaria, Norway, Finland, The UK, Armenia, Azerbaijan, the Ukraine and Serbia. Lithuania was represented by the chief colonel Vaidas Krulikauskas of the Firefighters Training School of Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior (further – the School). The School performs the function of the training centre, providing the international course related to planning, training, procedure and equipment for CBRN incidents. There are established the following four more CBRN training centers: the Centre for Crisis Management (CMC) in Kuopio in Finland, the Joint CBRN Centre of Excellence in Vyskov in the Czech Republic, the Professional Training Centre in Montana in Bulgaria and the Ahrweiler Training Centre in Germany.
